Message Notes

There are a few reasons why this world is such a hot mess

  1. Satan is allowed to have his way
  2. Jesus is not yet exercising direct authority over the world
  3. Unrighteous people are the majority in governments and positions of authority

Revelation 20:1-6
And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

One Thousand Years

A spiritual of figurative view on Jesus’ 1000 year earthy reign. Amillennialism says that Jesus and His followers are currently reigning over the earth and Satan is figuratively bound in the sense that he is not able exercise full deception over the world.

A literal view on Jesus’ 1000 year reign. Premillennialism says Jesus’ 1000 year reign starts after His second coming.

Scripture references regarding this kingdom

Matthew 19:28-30

Acts 1:6-8

Three events that will take place during this time

  1. Satan Restrained

Revelation 20:2
2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

Four Actions that Ensure Satan is Bound

He is…

The Pit is…

  1. Followers of Jesus Will Reign with Him

Who is on the thrones with Jesus?

Daniel 7:18

Daniel 7:27
27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’

Matthew 19:28
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

1 Corinthians 6:2
2 Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? …

2 Timothy 2:12
12 if we endure,
we will also reign with him…

  1. Believers Resurrected

2 Corinthians 5:8
8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Luke 23:43
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Please continue to pray for the Children’s Ministry. Reaching children is such a key to their spiritual development and the world will teach them quite the opposite of what the Bible teaches.  If you have it in your heart to help out in any way, please reach out to the church leadership.  There is no task that is unimportant in God’s Kingdom.  You may just help change the direction of the future generation.
