Message Notes

Acts 9:10-17 NASB

10 Now there was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” 11 And the Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying, 12 and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him, so that he might regain his sight.” 13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints in Jerusalem; 14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel; 16 for I will show him how much he must suffer in behalf of My name.”

“The best ability we can have for God is availability and flexibility”

How do we do?

  1. God Calls

  2. We Answer

  3. God Provides the Way

Is it ok to question God?

1 John 4:1 NASB

1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

How do we hear from God?

Hebrews 10:15-16

15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

16 “This is the covenant which I will make with them
After those days, declares the Lord:
I will put My laws upon their hearts,
And write them on their mind,”

Is it easy to follow Jesus?

Luke 9:23

23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. Ananias asked for confirmation and then stepped out in faith to do what God told him to do.  He was available and flexible.

Sometimes God will answer our prayer and sometimes he will answer our prayers with “no”.

Do you have someone who will come along side you and pray for you when you need prayer?
