The Oral Torah, rules and regulations added by the Pharisees to achieve what God says in the Bible, was a _____________ tradition passed down from generation to generation. The Old Testament (their Bible) had ________ rules they had to follow (they added thousands more). Jesus tells Nicodemus he must be “_________ _________,” meaning born from above or born with the ___________ of God inside you. When we Believe that Jesus _______ to pay for our sins, the Spirit of God _________ the believer and we are “born again.” Our Spirit is _________ and we reconnect with God.
.
John 3:16 Believing is THE KEY to Eternal Life
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave up His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”
God so loved THE WORLD- It’s the entire __________ that God loves, not just the Pharisees or the Jews. The gift of eternal life in heaven with Jesus is offered to ________________!

Believing the greatest thing He did was die, bridging the gap, ____________ you with God. You ___________ out loud that Jesus is the Lord of your life (Romans 10:9). You turn away from your old ___________ life and commit your life to following Him. You believe God ___________ Him from dead so that you will also be raised from the dead forever in eternity.
His ONLY Son- The Greek word monogenēs; can be one child, can also mean “______ ___ __ _______.” Prophesied in Psalm 2:7 “I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, ‘You are my Son; today I have begotten you.’”
.
John 3:17-18 Saved THROUGH Him, Judged ALREADY
17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. 18 The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
How can the world be saved? ___________ Him!
Why didn’t Jesus come to judge? Because the world is already judged. The Bible says we were conceived in ______. To sin means to “________ _____ ________” of God’s perfection. God Gave Adam and Eve the same option we all have today: Choose _______ or choose the __________.
.
John 3:19 Loving darkness and turning backs to Jesus
19 And this is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil.
Adam and Eve’s perfect fellowship with God was ___________. They hid! Noah’s Ark: God brought ____________ but He also provided a way to be _________. The Ark kept the people on it _____________.
The Bible says Jesus is the _________ of the world! But since people loved _______________, they _________ their backs on Him.
The Bible says we are in ____________ to our sin (John 8:34) and we don’t even know it! _______ is darkness. It _____________ us from God. The Bible shines a _________ on what God calls sin.
.
John 3:20 Exposing our broken condition
20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed.
The light __________ the reality of our broken condition.
When we are living _______ from God, we are living in __________.
The Bible says that _____ sin has to be paid for. No exceptions!
.
John 3:21 Practice, not perfection
21 But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed by God.
Practicing the truth is not a _____ – ________ thing!
We have to practice what God _________ us to do. When we mess up, we learn from it and ________ back to God for forgiveness.
