1. Put yourselves in the timeframe of when Jesus was born. What are some of the things the Jewish people would have been looking for in a promised Messiah?

2. Read Isaiah 7:14, what is the word for “Immanuel” in the original language?  What are the languages that the original scriptures were written in? What scripture in the New Testament references this scripture?

3. Read Luke 1:26-32, was Mary a married woman at this point? Why or why not?

4. Read Matthew 1:20-25, how are people saved from their sins? If someone asked you, “How do I become a Christian?” how would you answer them?

5. What does it mean in verse 30 when it says “you have found favor with God”? Does everyone have God’s favor?  Why or why not?

6. Read Matthew 1:33-35, some people may disagree that Jesus is the Son of God like it says in verse 35. How could you respond Biblically to that disagreement?

7. Read Micah 5:2, why is this prophecy important? Why would it cause people at the time of Jesus to have difficulty understanding that Jesus could fulfill this prophecy?

8. Where was Jesus born? Where was he raised/spent most of His life before His ministry started?

9. What is the Trinity? How could you explain it to others who are not Christian?

10. Will you consider inviting someone out for the Christmas Eve service?
