Baptisms!

Is Jesus the Lord of your life?  The next step is Baptism.  Whether you’ve been a Christian for decades or maybe just a month or so ago, the Bible teaches us that we should be baptized.  Jesus showed us the example by being baptized.  If you would like more information or are ready to make a public declaration of your faith by being baptized, please see Justin.

  1. What is a miracle? What are some of the miracles recorded in the Bible?  How many miracles does the Bible show?

  2. Does God still perform miracle today? Why or why not?

  3. Read John 2:1-4, what are some of the characteristics for a wedding in that culture/time? Is Jesus’ statement to His mother considered rude?  Why or why not?

  4. What are some of the translations of the Bible you have used and what are some of the characteristics of varying translations? What is the best translation of the Bible?

  5. Is the wine in the times of Jesus the same as it is today? Why or why not?  Are Christians free to drink alcohol?  Why or why not?

  6. Read John 2:5-11, what is the “Jewish custom of purification,”? Is there anything wrong with Christian traditions?  Why or why not?  What are some of the traditions in the Bible the religious rulers were keeping that Jesus has to consistently address?  What are some traditions that you value?  What are some traditions that you think should not be honored?

  7. Has Jesus done a miracle in your life? Are you willing to share with the group?

  8. Does God grant miracles to everyone? If you ask for a miracle and God says, “No”, what should be your next step?

  9. Can we make our own custom-made religion? If so, what are some of the ways we can do it?  What are some of the ways we can get frustrated with how other’s “do” religion?
