Jesus showed us the example by being baptized.

Luke 23:33-43 NIV Good Friday service

1. What is the day we often refer to as “Palm Sunday” all about?

2. Read Matthew 21:1-11, why would people spread branches or put their cloaks on the road?  Verse 11 says, “This is the prophet Jesus”.   Is Jesus a prophet?  What is a prophet?

3. What is the importance of what we call Passion/Holy week? What are some of the things that happen that week?  What stands out to you the most for the events of that week?

4. It was pointed out in the sermon that Jesus cursed a fig tree. What is the significance of the fig tree in scripture?

5. Why did Jesus “cleanse” the temple?

6. If you wanted to look up in scripture how many times that Jesus spoke of His death and resurrection, how would you do that?

7. Did Jesus know that Judas would betray Him? If so, why do you think He picked Him to be a disciple?

8. Read Matthew 26:6-9, what is the significance of Jesus anointing in these verses? Are there other verses in the Bible that talk about this anointing?  If so, how would you go about finding them?

9. Is God putting someone on your heart to invite to Easter? Will you reach out to them this week?
