  1. If you had to summarize the book of John so far, how would you make that summary? Why is Jesus in Samaria?  Why would this be something odd for Him to do?

  2. When the Bible talks about “living water”, what is meant by that? Does every Christian have living water?  Why or why not?

  3. Read John 4:31-34, what is a disciple in the Bible? Are there still disciples today?  How does a person become a disciple?

  4. Read John 4:35-39, why do you think there are so many references to planting/harvest in the Bible? When do the terms “sowing” and “reaping” mean typically in the Bible?

  5. What is meant by what we often call “the parable of the sower” found in Luke 8? What is the seed in the parable?  What is the soil in the parable and how does each one differ?  What is the bird referencing?  Where do Christians fit into the parable?

  6. The Bible often talks about hardened hearts. What is meant by that expression? What are some ways we can let our heart get hardened?

  7. What is meant by our own personal “Testimony”? Are you willing to share with the group your own personal testimony?

  8. What is our primary mission field as Christians? What are some other missionary fields that we have?  In your experience, what is the toughest mission field?

  9. Read John 4:40-45. Verse 41 tells us “Many more believed because of His word;”, is this true today? What is meant by “a prophet has no honor in his own country.” Why or why not?

  10. Are we predestined to go to heaven by God or do we get a choice?

  11. Continued prayers needed for the church and the church leadership. Would you commit a minute this week to pray for the church?
