  1. Who was the 3rd king of Israel appointed by God? Who was the second?  What are some things you know about him?

  2. What are some of the positive things about Saul that you can recall from our studies? What are some of the negative things?  Does God weigh these in our lives?  Why or why not?

  3. Read 1 Samuel 31:1-4, who is Jonathan? Who does the scripture tell us he is very close to?

  4. What is sin? Can a Christian ever be sin free?  Why or why not?

  5. What is suicide? Can you think of instances of suicide or perhaps suicidal thoughts that the Bible shows?  Is suicide the unpardonable sin?  Are there times that suicide is permissible?  Why or why not?

  6. Does God have a plan and a purpose for everyone? What are the scriptures that would support your answer?

  7. Read John 10:10-11, what does it mean in verse 10 “and have it abundantly/to the full”. Read the same verse in the NLT.  Is this promise from Jesus for a future time in heaven or now on earth?

  8. Read 1 Samuel 31:5-10, do you think Saul deserved what happened to him? Why or why not?  Do we always deserve what happens to us?  Why or why not.

  9. Read 1 Samuel 31:11-13, using a bible app search out “Jabesh gilead”, how many times does the phrase occur?  What are some things you can find out about them?

  10. Please continue in prayer for our country and the newly elected leaders. (reference Romans 13:1)
