3. Read Philippians 3:1-3, what are some of the things Paul seems to be worried about for believers to lose their joy in the Philippian church?  What are some things that steal our joy now?  Is it the same comparing now to the 1st century? Why or why not?
4. What is meant by dogs in Philippians 3:2?  How would you define a legalist?  What are some of the traits of a legalist? Have you ever been a legalist based on the definition given? What should we do when we encounter someone like this?  What should we do when we are showing signs of legalism?
5. How exactly do you go to heaven?  Is there more than one way?
6. How would you define a true believer/what are some traits of a true believer?
7. Read Philippians 3:4-8, what do you think Paul means when he says “as for righteousness based on the law, faultless”?  What are some modern-day versions of an impressive Christian resume?  Do any of these count for anything in God’s eyes? Why or why not?
8. What do you think Paul means when he says consider/count everything as loss in relationship to knowing Jesus?  What are some things we can count as loss in our relationship with Jesus?  Are there any regrets in the things we count as loss?  Should there be?
9. Read Isaiah 64:6, how does God feel about our self-righteousness based on this scripture?
10. Is the Gospel message free?
