Message Notes
God Feeds His People During The Exodus:
Exodus 16:4 ESV
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.”
Exodus 17:6 ESV
“Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.”
What Jesus Said:
John 6:27 ESV
“Do not work for the food that Perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”
John 6:35, 51 ESV
Jesus the said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever come to me shall not hunger and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread the I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.
John 6:53-58 ESV
So, Jesus said to them, “Truly, Truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food and My blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread of that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died, Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
What Jesus Says It Is Not:
- It is not ________________.
- It is not ________________________.
- It is not Just a _____________________.
What is the Bread?
Luke 22:19 ESV
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying. “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me,”
First it represents his body what was broken for our sins and was the sacrifice that saved us the punishment we deserve, which is Death. It is salvation for our souls.
Secondly his body, which is given to us through his words and wisdom feeds our spiritual body and gives us strength.
What is the Cup?
Luke 22:20 ESV
And likewise, the cup after they had eaten, saying. “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”
The blood is the new covenant. This new covenant is that if we accept what he did for us, he paid the full price of sin with his own blood when he was crucified, we will receive an eternal sinless life without need of doing anything else. It is the full atonement for our lives.
The Bottom Line is: By eating his flesh and drinking his blood we are given eternal life.

BYO Bible!-January
Have a Bible just sitting around the house not getting any use? Looking to get a new Bible? Calling on everyone to bring your Bible to church for the next series starting in January (now is good too!). The church also has extra Bibles if you need one. Digital Bibles are great tools to use but also can sometimes be a distraction. Dust off that old print Bible and bring it on in so we can all dig into God’s Word together.
Zelle
The board is working on setting up Zelle to use for a digital option for giving. Should have it up and running in January!
Small Groups will resume in January! Would you like to start the year digging in a little deeper to God’s Word in a small group? Or maybe God has put it on your heart to host a small group. Reach out to Justin or Paulette and we can help guide you to where God wants you to be!
